Who am I ?
About Janelle
Janelle’s passion for hair began in childhood, styling mannequins in her father’s salon, the renowned Guy Thomas Salon, a beloved New York institution for over 50 years. What started as early curiosity quickly evolved into a lifelong craft, one she continued to develop while working her way through college and graduate school.
In 2008, Janelle joined her father professionally, where her passion fully took shape. Over the years, she has worked with an exceptional and diverse clientele—from high-level executives and business leaders to Broadway producers, performers and creatives preparing for the stage at Carnegie Hall. Her work has also included notable figures such as Paul McCartney, Alec Baldwin, and Marti Nixon.
A master colorist with Goldwell, Janelle has undergone years of rigorous, advanced training and has also served as an educator for numerous top salons throughout Manhattan. Her expertise in color is defined by a highly customized, detail-oriented approach, delivering refined, natural, and consistently luxurious results.
Following the profound impact of the pandemic, which led to the closing of many long-standing New York businesses—including her father’s salon—Janelle, like many, reimagined her path forward. With resilience and vision, she evolved her practice to meet the changing needs of her clients.
For the past year, Janelle has been based at Manespace in Chelsea, where she works from her private studio, offering an elevated, by-appointment experience each Wednesday. In addition, she continues to provide exclusive in-home and hotel services for clients seeking the utmost convenience and privacy.
A $150 concierge fee applies for on-location appointments.
Born and raised in New York, Janelle understands that with every challenge comes an opportunity to rebuild and redefine. Her work is rooted not only in skill and experience, but in helping each client feel confident, polished, and ready for what’s next.
Let Janelle be part of your next chapter.
